CCI Interiors take home the vino

Gemma Gard, Sales Executive with CCI Interiors was the lucky winner for the two bottles of wine offered by the Town to participants in the recent Economic Development Business Survey.

In June the Town of Bassendean carried out a detailed on-line economic survey of local businesses owners and staff.  As part of the review of Economic Development services provided by the Town, this wide ranging survey revealed a positive out look in business sentiment and business conditions by a majority of the responses received.  While nationally Business confidence was eroded in the second quarter of this year, over 55% of Bassendean businesses indicated that they felt they would be expanding their business in the next 12 months and on average recruiting around 4 new staff each.

Mayor, John Gangell said this review “reveals the priorities of local business.”  “This research will guide and influence the level of engagement and budget expenditure in Economic Development for the next five years” the mayor added.

This survey was dominated by businesses in the industrial area of Tonkin Business Park with approximately, 30% of responses in the manufacturing, construction, and mining sectors.  !7% were in the retail sector. 49% of respondents identified with the mining boom as having a positive impact on their business.

CCI Interiors was one of the many organisations to contribute to the survey.  Manufacturing Office furniture and fit outs for the last 20 years, this family run organisation has steadily increased its reach and now counts Rio Tinto, BGC and Chas Hopkins amongst its many customers. Richard Gard, Proprietor indicated that they expect to expand this year which will mean recruiting additional staff.

Like 88% of all respondents, CCI Interiors found Bassendean’s rapid access to the Perth CBD and north south transit corridors offered them a real advantage over other locations in Perth.
